2010 Official Tournament Rules

1. Rules:  The following rules for the tournament will be used.  These rules will be interpreted solely by the tournament officials and their decisions are final.
2. Eligibility:  All individuals who have paid the appropriate entry fee.  Anglers under 16 may compete as a non-boater. Anglers under 16 must be accompanied by by a boater who is their legal guardian or have a waiver and consent signed by their legal guardian.
3. Entry Fee:  $125.00 per boat. Entries will be accepted in person, by mail or online.  All entries submitted within 48 hours of the tournament must be in person. There will be a twenty five dollar late fee for any team that registers after 5:00 p.m. October 16th, 2009. No more than 2 people per boat.
4. Tournament Hours:  Saturday take off 7:00 a.m. Weigh in at 4:00 p.m. Sunday Take off 7:00 a.m. weigh-in at 2:00 p.m. All fish must be caught during the tournament hours.
5. Take off and weigh-in at Bear Bottom Resort on Lake Road 5-36 in Fan Hollow Cove at the 38 mile marker. Take off will be determined by the sequence in which entry fees are received and there will be no reverse take off on day two.  All boats will be required to have their boats inspected prior to take off at the end of the long pier at Bear Bottom each morning by the tournament officials. NO COURTESY DOCK CHECKS. Failure to have your boat inspected will result in disqualification.
6. Tackle and Equipment: Only artificial baits will be used. No trolling. All bass must be caught on a rod and reel during tournament hours. Pork style baits will be allowed.
7. Boats and Motors:  Any boat 14 feet or longer will be accepted. Boats must have a functional live well and a kill switch must be functional.  No trailering during tournament hours.
8. Safety and Sportsmanship:  Safe boating and fishing practices must be observed. Life jackets must be worn at any time the big motor is running. All Missouri Department of Conservation and Missouri State Water Patrol regulations and laws apply. Alcohol is not permitted in a contestant’s boat during tournament hours and all alcohol consumed during the weigh-in and awards ceremony should be purchased from the tournament host’s facility.
9. Permitted Fishing Locations:  There will be no fishing inside any no wake buoy or within 250 feet of a state or conservation department public access area.  There will be no fishing inside the take off buoys of Davey Hollow Cove. There will be no fishing within 50 yards of another contestant’s boat at anchor.
10.  Scoring:  Largemouth and Smallmouth bass 15” in length or larger will be scored and Kentucky bass 12” in length or larger will be scored.  5 Fish limit per day. Total stringer weight per team will determine place. Any fish under the specified length brought to the scales will result in a 2 pound deduction from the total weight of the stringer plus the loss of the fish. No frozen, mangled, or iced fish will be accepted. Any dead fish will be penalized 4 oz. per fish.
11. Protest: must be filed 15 minutes after weigh-in.
12. Ties: ties will be broken by earliest starting position or entry on all awards.
13. Check in Late Penalty:  1 pound per minute up to 10 minutes, then disqualification. No excuses. For safety reasons, all participants, even those who don’t weigh any fish must check in each day and present score sheets at the weigh in. Failure to do so will result in disqualification for that day.
14. Polygraph:  Each contestant agrees by his or her signature on the application to submit to a polygraph test. Tournament directors will determine who will take the test. Failure to pass the test will result in disqualification.
